When the sound setting is being changed from OFF to ON there must be some audio feedback given from the device, whether it is the main theme (m_title) or in the form of an SFX/music (that can be find in the sound pack of the release). When the sound setting is being changed from ON to OFF no sound must be played.

  9. Gameloft 1. Installation & Data Storage rules Install/Uninstall and Application Launch Installation Games must download and install via OTA (over the air) in the appropriate folder on the device. The game icon must appear next to its name - if the phone supports this feature - and the game name must be properly displayed in the application manager. When installing a 2D version on a phone on which a 3D version of the same game exists, the 2D version must not overwrite the 3D one. They both must coexist on the same device. The same must happen if the 3D version is installed on a phone on which the 2D version of the same game is already present. Uninstallation The uninstall option must, upon user confirmation, remove the installed game and all of its stored data from the device without affecting any other applications or features of the device. Some games might be trial or timed versions and they must expire as expected and must display an appropriate message for expiration, as well as provide methods to upgrade to a full version. Launch The game must launch and exit properly. Once the game is activated, it must launch within 15 seconds. That is, from the moment the game is selected from the application menu to the moment the very first screen is displayed (The Gameloft logo screen. Ergo 2.1.1.1). The time elapsed between starting the application in the menu of the phone and the display of the 1st interactive menu (the "Do you want sound?" screen, for instance) must not be longer than 30 seconds. Data Storage High score and Saved games Previously recorded high score data and saved games must be available after the game is exited or device is restarted. The game must warn the user if saving cannot be performed (lack of space). The warning must occur before any gameplay progress is made.
  10. The saving of the progress must occur simultaneously or just before the indication on the progress achieved has been given to the user. Example - this is a BAD behavior Step 1: user kills boss Step 2: message is displayed: Level complete, press any key to continue! Step 3: user presses a key Step 4: saving is done This is bad because if the phone is shut down or an interrupt occurs at step 2, saving will not occur. Example - this is a GOOD behavior Step 1: user kills boss Step 2: saving occurs Step 3: message is displayed: Level complete, press any key to continue! This ensures the fact that the saving of the progress is done before the user is made aware of the progress achieved. Passwords and personal information Some games may require the user to transfer online sensitive information such as passwords or credit card data (ex: in the case of a renewal for a trial version). This information must not be saved in cache memory. Having an “Update/Refresh/Reset” link on the content page is highly recommended. Use Encryption (if the system supports it) to send passwords or other sensitive personal data. The application must not echo the input of sensitive data (ex: pins and passwords). However, it is permitted that the chosen character can appear briefly in order to confirm what character has been entered; the character must then be masked
