  1. Unit 4 : SCHOOL EDUCATION SYSTEM - LISTENING I. Objectives: 1. Educational aim: Students should know about someone’s background. 2. Knowledge: - General knowledge: Students talk about someone’s background. - Language - New words: Words related to someone’s education. 3. Skill: Listening for gist and for specific information II. Method: Integrated, mainly communicative III. Teaching aids: Board, tape, cassetteplayer, chalks, textbook and notebook IV. Procedures: Teacher’s activities Students’ activities Warm-up: (4 minutes) - Ask Ss some questions about their studies at school. - Listen to the teacher 1. What school subjects are you good at? - Answer the questions: 2. Which ones do you enjoy most/least in your class? Explain why. Pre-listening: (9 minutes) - Work in pairs - Ask Ss to look at “Listen and repeat” - Listen and understand the - Read and ask students to listen meanings of those words. - Let students listen again and repeat. - Write some words on board and ask students to read them aloud. - Let they work in pairs - Listen and correct mistakes While-listening: (20 minutes) - Read the questions quickly.
