Thyme Leaves Shawlette Materials: 4 balls of Sandnesgarn Mini Alpakka Needles: 4mm (US 6) 80 cm (32”) circular needle Finished Measurement: approx. 58” wide x 24” deep when blocked Tension: Tension is not critical for this project Abbreviations WS = wrong side RS = right side inc 1 = increase in the next st by knitting into the front then the back of the st yo = yarn over needle SSK = slip two sts knitwise then knit into the front of the two slipped sts on the right hand needle K2tog = knit two sts together S2KP2 = slip two sts together, knitwise, K1, pass both slipped stitches over the K1. P3tog = purl three sts together Cast on 3 sts. Proceed as follows: Row 1 (WS): K3 Row 2 (RS): Inc 1, inc 1, K1 5 sts Row 3: K2, P1, K2 Row 4: K2, yo, K1, yo, K2 7 sts Row 5: K2, P1, K1, P1, K2 Row 6: K2, (yo, K1) 3 times, yo, K2 11 sts Row 7: K2, P3, K1 (this is the centre stitch), P3, K2 Continue from Graph 1, working every row as follows: K2, follow Graph 1, K1 (centre stitch) follow Graph 1 again, K2. When the last row of Graph 1 has been completed, work from Graph 2 as follows: On RS rows, K2, begin with the right side section, repeat the centre section and end with the
left section of Graph 2. Knit centre stitch and repeat the graph. End row with K2. On WS rows, K2, begin with the left section, repeat the centre section and end with the right section of Graph 2. Knit centre stitch and repeat the graph. End row with K2. Repeat the 6 rows of the graph until there are 207 sts on the needle, ending with a wrong side row. Work from Graph 3 in the same manner as Graph 2. When last row of Graph has been completed, work 4 rows in Garter Stitch (knit every row). Cast off loosely as follows: K2tog, K1, lift the second st on the right hand needle over the first. *K2tog, lift the second st on the right needle over the first* Repeat to end of row.
