Little is known about gender differences of coronary heart disease patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in low-and middle-income nations, despite its rapid uptake across Asia. Objective: to report on gender clinical characteristics and in-hospital outcomes for patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention at a leading cardiac centre in Vietnam.

Internal combustion engines are extensively used in various modes of transportation, including ships and cars. However, their operation generated significant noise, which can disrupt daily life and poses health risks. Prolonged exposure to noise can lead to insomnia, cardiovascular diseases, and even death, making noise pollution a growing social concern.

Hypertension is the leading disease in Vietnam and the leading risk factor for noncommunicable diseases worldwide. It is a manageable and treatable condition, according to the guidelines of the Ministry of Health and the clinical practice recommendations of the Vietnam Society of Cardiovascular and the Vietnam Society of Hypertension.

Bacterial infections have a substantial impact on global health and can become serious if misdiagnosed with several diseases related to the central nervous, cardiovascular, and respiratory systems. The prognosis in patients with infectious disease strongly depends on early diagnosis and appropriate antibiotic therapy. We aimed to compare the accuracy of genus and species-level identification bacteria using biochemical testing and 16S rRNA sequence analysis.

Hypertension is one of the major causes of cardiovascular diseases in the world. Periodontal disease is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the tissues surrounding the teeth. The objectives of this study were to determine the association between hypertension and periodontal parameters in periodontitis patients.

The mammalian natriuretic peptide system, consisting of at least three ligands and three receptors, plays critical roles in health and disease. Exam-ination of genetically engineered animal models has suggested the signifi-cance of the natriuretic peptide system in cardiovascular, renal and skeletal homeostasis.

Despite its clinical importance, a dearth of information exists on the cellular and molecular mechanisms that underpin brain stem death. A suitable neural substrate for mechanistic delineation on brain stem death resides in the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) because it is the origin of a life-and-death signal that sequentially increases (pro-life) and decreases (pro-death) to reflect the advancing central cardiovascular regulatory dysfunction during the progression towards brain stem death in critically ill patients.

MicroRNAs (miRNAs) are small noncoding RNAs (~22 nucleotides) that regulate gene expression by cleaving mRNAs or inhibiting translation. The baboon is a well-characterized cardiovascular disease model; however, no baboon miRNAs have been identified. Evidence indicates that the baboon and human genomes are highly conserved; based on this conservation, we hypothesized that comparative genomic methods could be used to identify baboon miRNAs.

3-Hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitors (statins) have been widely used to reduce cardiovascular risk. These statins (i.e., simvastatin) may exert other effects besides from their cholesterollowering actions, including inhibition of platelet activation. Platelet activation is relevant to a variety of coronary heart diseases. Although the inhibitory effect of simvastatin in platelet activation has been studied; the detailed signal transductions by which simvastatin inhibit platelet activation has not yet been completely resolved.

As the origin of a life-and-death signal detected from systemic arterial pressure, which sequentially increases (pro-life) and decreases (pro-death) to reflect progressive dysfunction of central cardiovascular regulation during the advancement towards brain stem death in critically ill patients, the rostral ventrolateral medulla (RVLM) is a suitable neural substrate for mechanistic delineation of this fatal phenomenon.

We are constantly reminded by health professionals that excessive intake of dietary sodium is linked to hypertension, which is one of the risk factors for the development of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and stroke. They further warn you that excess sodium intake is linked to gastric cancer, decreased bone density, and obesity. That's a fact. If I have to lower my sodium intake, it's not because of CVD or hypertension since I cannot see and feel those silent diseases but rather because of obesity. Good grief, that’s noticeable and I believe in "phát tướng phát bệnh". ...
