This research is built upon the determination of the Eigenpairs of one and two dimensional positive differential operators with periodic boundary conditions. The Schrödinger equation was solved for positive operators in both one and two dimensions. Fourier series were used to express the derivatives as the summation of Fourier terms. This led to a novel approach for the calculation of the eigenmodels of a perturbed potential well. The perturbation can be done via an electric field applied to the potential well.

Compared to RNA-sequencing transcript differential analysis, gene-level differential expression analysis is more robust and experimentally actionable. However, the use of gene counts for statistical analysis can mask transcript-level dynamics. We demonstrate that ‘analysis first, aggregation second,’ where the p values derived from transcript analysis are aggregated to obtain gene-level results, increase sensitivity and accuracy.

Drosophila model is intensively studied for the development of cancer. The diminutive (dMyc), a homolog of the human MYC gene, is responsible for cell- apoptosis and its upregulation is responsible for determining the fate of cancerous growth in humans and Drosophila model. Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is one of the deadliest cancers. Molecular knowledge regarding the primary esophageal achalasia is essential for the early diagnosis and treatment of this neurodegenerative motility disorder. Therefore, there is a need to find the main microRNAs (miRNAs) contributing to the mechanisms of achalasia. This study was conducted to determine some patterns of deregulated miRNAs in achalasia. This case-control study was performed on 52 patients with achalasia and 50 nonachalasia controls. The miRNA expression profiling was conducted on the esophageal tissue samples using the next-generation sequencing (NGS).

According to gene enrichment analysis, PPAR pathway, cardiac muscle contraction, and cytokinecytokine receptor interaction were the most enriched pathways. Besides, the nuclear factor-κB signaling pathway and hematopoietic cell linage pathways were also enriched. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is enriched among KEGG disease pathways. Murine pregnancy-associated plasma protein-A (PAPP-A) cDNA encoding a 1545 amino-acid protein has been cloned. We have also identified and cloned cDNA that encodes a novel variant of PAPP-A, PAPP-Ai, carrying a 29-residue highly basic insert. The point of insertion corresponds to a junction between two exons in the human PAPP-A gene. Chlamydomonas reinhardtii, a unicellular green alga, contains a hydrogenase enzyme, which is induced by anaerobic adaptation of the cells. Using the suppression subtractive hybridization (SSH) approach, the differential expression of genes under anaerobiosis was analyzed. A PCR fragment with similarity to the genes of bacterial Fe-hydrogenases was isolated and used to screen an anaerobic cDNA expression library of C. reinhardtii.

Genomic sequencing has identified three different typical plant aspartic proteinases in the genome ofArabidopsis thaliana, named Pasp-A1, A2 and A3. A1 is identical to a cDNA we had previously isolated and the two others pro-duceproteins 81and63%identical to that predictedprotein.
