Electrical system design

The aim of this thesis is investigate and design a small antenna which can be embedded onto a Polyethylene substrate (used for making roof tiles). The antenna can be used to harvest ambient energy by connecting it to a rectifier. Due to the dimensional constraints of a roof tile as well as the materials used, there are limitations imposed on the antenna size, and thus the radiation efficiency and bandwidth often become a limiting factor in the overall performance of the system.

Liquid alloy systems have a high degree of thermal conductivity, far superior to ordinary nonmetallic liquids and inherent high densities and electrical conductivities. This results in the use of these materials for specific heat conducting and dissipation applications for the nuclear and space sectors. Uniquely, they can be used to conduct heat and electricity between nonmetallic and metallic surfaces.

The proposed adaptive controller allows the design of a feedback control that stabilizes self-balancing control of eScooter in the presence of uncertainty and perturbation. Additionally, the sensor signals are treated by Kalman filters and the CAN networks are applied to communication among modules of eScooter. Simulation and experiment results are shown to analyze and validate the performance of proposed controller.

(BQ) The paper describes the application of the fuzzy logic analysis coupled with Taguchi methods to optimise the precision and accuracy of the high-speed electrical discharge machining (EDM) process. A fuzzy logic system is used to investigate relationships between the machining precision and accuracy for determining the efficiency of each parameter design of the Taguchi dynamic experiments.
