Solubility parameters of carbon quantum dots (CQDs) are important physical properties to deploy CQDs in various applications such as organic light emitting diodes (OLEDs), light-converting materials in LEDs, and photoluminescent sensors for metal ion detection. Because of the low toxicity and tunable emission most CQDs have been designed to be water-soluble and biocompatible; oilsoluble CQDs that are essential for OLEDs are not yet explored.

This research project explores the effectiveness of an auditory display prototype for the sonification of internet \(c{o_2}\) emissions to a small user group within their office context. To date, methods do not exist for the reporting of this information to users of personal computing while they perform simple internet enquiries. Underpinning the theoretical development of this project is a focus on auditory displays guided by the concept and forms of auditory displays, together with the auditory perception elements to be considered in their design.

The main objective of this research is to optimize the design of the Tunnel kiln for efficient fuel usage. To achieve that, the temperature distribution from the simulation needs be matched with the desired Tunnel kiln curve found in industry. This objective can be achieved by CFD simulation where temperature, velocity and emission distributions inside the Tunnel kiln can be obtained. Generated temperature distribution can be matched with the industrial curve and by interpreting the curve, efficient design can be suggested.

This project is focused on studying the biological effects of low-power RF radiation on the expression and function of mechanosensitive ion channel protein (Piezo-1). To evaluate the effects of long-term exposures, cells were exposed at the frequency of 1800 MHz and power of 17 dBm for a period of 2 and 4 hrs using the transverse electromagnetic (TEM) cell exposure system. To study the effects of short-term RF radiation (10 min), exposures emitted from the mobile phone headset at the frequency of 845 MHz and powers of -15 dBm and -5 dBm were applied to cell cultures.

In recent years, legislative and market requirements have driven the need to reduce fuel consumption while meeting increasingly stringent exhaust emissions. This trend has dictated increasing complexity in automotive engines and new approaches to engine design. A key research objective for the automotive engineering community has been the potential combination of gasoline-engine specific power with diesel-like engine efficiency in a cost-competitive, production-feasible power train.

Air travel is continuing to experience the fastest growth among all modes of transport. Increasing total fuel consumption and the potential impacts of aircraft engine emissions on the global atmosphere have motivated the industry, scientific community, and international governments to seek various emissions reduction options. Despite the efforts to understand and mitigate the impacts of aviation emissions, it still remains uncertain whether proposed emissions reduction options are technologically and financially feasible....
