The influence of the black seed oil modified epoxy resin (EBSO)/monomer 3,4-epoxycyclohexylmethyl 3,4- epoxycyclohexane carboxylate (BCDE) weight ratio in the coatings based on the compounds and photoinitiator triarylsulfonium hexafluoroantimonate (TAS) on thermal properties of photocrosslinked coatings have been studied. The chemical structure of investigated UV-cured coatings was characterized by IR spectrometric analysis. Their thermogravimetric (TG) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) behavior were determined by TG and DSC analysis, respectively.

In this work, nano-SiO2 have been used as nanocarriers for loading Ce(III) ions (SiO2@Ce3+). After loading, silane coupling agent has been used to modify these nanocarriers (m-SiO2@Ce3+). Then, these modified nanocarriers were added as green inhibitors into the inner epoxy coating matrix, which was based on the epoxy resin (DER 671X75) and hardener (polyamide Epicure 3125). Morphological study by FE-SEM showed that the spherical nanoparticles (mSiO2@Ce3+) were in size < 100 nm and dispersed rather homogeneously into the polyme matrix.

Epoxy-cardanol nanocomposites were prepared by insitu polymerization techniques. Their structures and properties were investigated by X-ray Diffraction (XRD) and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). The results showed that the chains of epoxy-cardanol resin could be intercalated into the galleries of nanoclay I.30E to form exfoliated structure. The influence of nanoclay I.30E on the thermal of epoxy-cardanol resin was determined by TGA method, which showed an increase with increasing amounts of nanoclay I.30E.

The epoxy ester was prepared from epoxy resin DER 331 and fatty acid by esterification reaction in inert gas without catalyst. The kinetics of the esterification was investigated and the results shown that the temperature, reaction time and mol ratio of epoxy resin to fatty acid suitable to electro-deposition process are 220o C, 150 minutes and 1/4, respectively. The received epoxy ester was modified with 15% (wt%) maleic anhydride at 175o C for 120 min which was adapt to binder for anodic electro-deposition coating.

Their applications in the field of paint with the pigment systems as zinc phosphate, zinc chromate and ferric oxide were also investigated. This paper presents the result of research on equipment development of vacuum injection molding technique for preparation the chopped bamboo fiber polymer composite and some properties of obtained composite material. For the vacuum injection molding technique, firstly the dry fibers were plated in the mold. Then the mold was closed by the vacuum bag, the air inside the mold was sucked out by a vacuum pump, due to the difference of the pressure in side and outside the mold, the polymer liquid was transferred to the closed mold and impregnated the bamboo fiber.

Epoxy resin networks have been modified with hybrid copolymer consisting of an urethane prepolymer and a solid bisphenol A diglycidyl ether. Hybrid copolymer prepared from isocyanate-terminated urethane (NCOPUER) resulted in cured transparent epoxy networks with no discernible phase-separated morphology, as indicated by scanning electron microscopy.

This study is focused on the synthesis of a polyindole doped by indole-3 butyric acid (PI-IBA). IR analyze indicated that the linkage positions of indole involves the position 2 and 3 of the monomer and the insertion of IBA in the polymer backbone. Polyindole IBA doped was incorporated into epoxy resin for protection anticorrosion of carbon steel. The electrochemical impedance measurements show a significantly improvement of protective properties in presence of PI-IBA in comparison with pure epoxy and epoxy containing polyindole coating.

The modified epoxy resin was synthetized from epoxy resin via opening all oxyran rings by dietanolamine and aminoamide of linseed oil fatty acids then mixed with fully blocked toluendiisocyanate by trimetylolpropan and 2-etylhexanol. The resin mixture was neutralized by lactic acid in water to form an emulsified system for the cathodic electrodeposited paint. The film forming conditions were studied and characteristics of film on carbon steel were investigated.
