High performance computing

Artificial intelligence is gradually emerging as a method for optimizing various tasks, offering cost-saving and highly efficient solutions. Nowadays, Al is used as a general term for diverse tasks performed by computers. Fields like machine learning, deep learning, and data science, among others within this scope, are considered part of Al as long as they exhibit the characteristics of artificial intelligence.

The research in this thesis follows two directions: The first, using high performance computing currently available, we studied atomic and molecular emissions in astrophysical environment. The radiative transfer model was applied to explain the characteristics of the recombination line masers Hnα in the envelope of the star MWC 349A.

Geo-electrical tomographical software plays a crucial role in geophysical research. However, imported software is expensive and does not provide much customizability, which is essential for more advanced geophysical study. Besides, these programs are unable to exploit the full potential of modern hardware, so the running time is inadequate for large-scale geophysical surveys. It is therefore an essential task to develop domestic software for overcoming all these problems.
