To examine how phase angle (PhA) contributes to sarcopenia and factors influencing sarcopenia in patients with stable ischemic heart disease (SIHD). Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 52 SIHD patients who were recruited, and relevant data was gathered. Patients were diagnosed with sarcopenia based on the Asian Sarcopenia Working Group 2019 (AWGS 2019) diagnostic criteria.

Internal combustion engines are extensively used in various modes of transportation, including ships and cars. However, their operation generated significant noise, which can disrupt daily life and poses health risks. Prolonged exposure to noise can lead to insomnia, cardiovascular diseases, and even death, making noise pollution a growing social concern.

Heart failure, a cardiovascular disease with a substantial disease burden, often leads to frequent hospitalizations for acute episodes. The readmission rate is estimated to be around 30-50%, resulting in high costs for both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments. Additionally, heart failure is associated with a considerable mortality rate, ranging from 48-57%.

Patients with diabetes mellitus suffer from an increased incidence of complications including cardiovascular disease and cataracts; the mechanisms responsible for this are not fully understood. One characteristic of such complications is an accumulation of advanced glycation end-products formed by the adduction of glucose or species derived from glucose, such as low-molecular mass aldehydes, to proteins.

Adipose tissue is an endocrine organ made up of adipocytes, various stro-mal cells, resident and infiltrating immune cells, and an extensive endo-thelial network. Adipose secretory products, collectively referred to as adipokines, have been identified as contributors to the negative conse-quences of adipose tissue expansion that include cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer.

Obesity and its associated disorders, including diabetes and cardiovascular disease, have now reached epidemic proportions in the Western world, resulting in dramatic increases in healthcare costs. Understanding the pro-cesses and metabolic perturbations that contribute to the expansion of adi-pose depots accompanying obesity is central to the development of appropriate therapeutic strategies.

3-Hydroxy-3-methyl-glutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitors (statins) have been widely used to reduce cardiovascular risk. These statins (i.e., simvastatin) may exert other effects besides from their cholesterollowering actions, including inhibition of platelet activation. Platelet activation is relevant to a variety of coronary heart diseases. Although the inhibitory effect of simvastatin in platelet activation has been studied; the detailed signal transductions by which simvastatin inhibit platelet activation has not yet been completely resolved.
