In the present paper, by using the higher-order shear deformation theory and the strain-displacement relationships of large deflection, the postbuckling analysis of the functionally graded graphene-reinforced composite laminated (FG-GRCL) parabola, sinusoidal, and cylindrical externally pressured panels is presented in detail.

This study focuses on experimental testing and subsequent numerical analysis of impacted and pre-loaded composite coupons and bonded composite scarf joints under varying impact conditions. A methodology will be developed for the numerical modelling of preloaded impact tests to enable capture of critical failure modes and ultimate failure. The main aim is to validate a modelling strategy that will provide accurate failure characterisation of the tested joints using numerical analysis.

The aim of this Master of Engineering (MEng) - Aerospace thesis is to study the structural response and failure of aerospace grade composites during exposure to fire. Key aspects of the research are to analyse the thermal and mechanical responses of laminates and sandwich composites in high temperature and fire environments, which result in softening and structural failure. The research is concentrated on carbon/epoxy laminates and sandwich composites, which are the most common composite materials used in aerospace structures.

Binding of lamin B receptor (LBR) to chromatin was studied by means of an in vitro assay system involving recombinant fragments of human LBR and Xenopus sperm chromatin. Biosynthesis of cholesterol represents one of the funda-mental cellular metabolic processes. SterolD14-reductase (D14-SR) is a microsomal enzyme involved in the con-version of lanosterol to cholesterol in mammals. Loss of functional emerin, a nuclear membrane protein, causes X-linked recessive Emery–Dreifuss muscular dystro-phy. In a yeast two-hybrid screen, we found that emerin interacts with Btf, a death-promoting transcriptional repressor, which is expressedat high levels in skeletalmuscle.
