Several studies have been carried out by optimising only the cost. They have not considered some other risk factors such as political and economic factors in their modelling. Currently, there is no generalised model available to determine the optimal sourcing locations incorporating important factors including risks in international LNG trading. In this study, 12 risk factors were taken into consideration to evaluate the risk.

The aim of this research is to discover how senior managers view the impacts of the recession on training and development in Ireland and to identify problems they have had to face and how they have managed through the recession and beyond. The research has found that training is regarded as hugely important despite of or in fact of the recession and managers are willing to do what they can to ensure they can keep this function operating. This has led to some innovative and extremely effective training methods.

In this study the issue of staff retention is explored and the external and internal factors affecting staff working in a humanitarian context are analysed. The objective of the study is to identify the most appropriate approach NGOs can adopt to improve retention of Gen Y staff working in a humanitarian context. NGOs will then be in a position to design a HR strategy that takes into consideration the specific needs and expectations of Gen Y staff. This is turn will allow for a more sustainable humanitarian workforce and more effective humanitarian action.

This thesis researched the influence of ETBs on exporters from developing countries and their corresponding strategies through a case study of the Chinese organic food industry. Initially, a description of international trade and world export was developed, including their roles in the process of globalization. Trade barriers generated in international trade were then explained, with the focus on NTBs, especially ETBs. Lastly, the link between ETBs and market access was described and then the purpose of this study was proposed.

The purpose of the research topic is to evaluate the motivations that would drive Brazilian nurses to immigrate to Ireland for working. The focus are Brazilian nurses in general, registered, technicians and assistants, who live in Brazil or not. This group of professionals already shows interest on working in Ireland since the researcher have contacted some of them in her recruitment project.

This study seeks to evaluate the barriers to employment in the UK which limit the mobility of EU nations between EU member states. Three objectives were set which consist of the following: identify the ability of doctors and nurses to move between EU countries, identify the main stakeholders of the UK's healthcare industry and identify mobility barriers present in UK hospitals. The literature suggests that the main type of professional migrants going to UK hospitals consist of permanent settlers and temporary professional transients.

This thesis examines empirically whether there is a link between education and economic growth in Chile during the period 1973-2005. This is done through the adoption of time-series analysis and co-integration techniques. Based on economic theory and empirical findings, potential implications for Chilean educational policy are then discussed.
