In everyday life, nature has given us countless useful medicinal plants. Among the common plants in Vietnam, the custard apple (Annona squamosa L.) has not been mainly used as a fruit but also traditionally as a medicine. However, studies on morphological characteristics remain limited in Vietnam as well as around the world. Determine the morphological and microscopic characteristics, and physicochemical features of A. squamosa leaves.

This study focuses on the biological characteristics of the genetic resources of the Stephania brachyandra in Thai Nguyen, one of Vietnam's valuable medicinal plants currently at risk of extinction. Investigation results indicate that Stephania brachyandra is commonly found at an average density of 32.57 plants per square kilometer, with distribution density varying across districts, being highest in Vo Nhai district and lowest in Phu Luong district.

Dental caries is the most prevalent chronic childhood disease with numerous predisposing factors. Salivary properties have been linked to progressive dental caries in previous studies. However, the role of these contributing factors in the management of dental caries in children remains insufficient. Thus, the investigation of salivary characteristics from different types of communities within a specific pediatric population is an obvious demand.

Fuzziness is found in engineering, medicine, manufacturing and other areas in our daily life. Recently, Fuzziness is applied to find the solution of human decision, reasoning and learning. The concept of intuitionistic fuzzification of subalgebra and KM ideals of the K-algebra are considered for testing the satisfaction of the properties.

The dinitrogenase component proteins of the conventional Mo nitrogenase (MoFe protein) and of the alternative Fe-only nitrogenase (FeFe protein) were both isolated and purified from Rhodobacter capsulatus, redox-titrated according to the same procedures and subjected to an EPR spectroscopic comparison. In the course of an oxidative titration of the MoFe protein (Rc1Mo) three significant S ¼ 1/2 EPR signals deriving from oxidized states of the P-cluster were detected: (1) a rhombic signal (g ¼ 2.07, 1.96 and 1.

Pyruvate decarboxylase (EC 4.1.1.1) was isolated and purified from the yeast Kluyveromyces lactis. The properties of this enzyme relating to the native oligomeric state, the subunit size, the nucleotide sequence of the coding gene(s), the catalytic activity, and protein fluorescence as well as circular dichroism are very similar to those of the well characterized pyruvate decarboxylase species from yeast.

A clear difference in the enthalpy changes derived from spectroscopic and calorimetric measurements has recently been shown. The exact interpretation of this deviation varied from study to study, but it was generally attributed to the non-two-state transition and heat capacity change. Although the temperature-dependent thermodynamics of the duplex formation was often implied, systemic and extensive studies have been lacking in universally assigning the appropriate thermodynamic parameter sets.

At the time of implantation in the maternal uterus, the trophectoderm of the pig blastocyst is the source of a massive secretion of interferon-gamma (IFN-c), together with lesser amounts of IFN-d, a unique species of type I IFN. This trophoblastic IFN-c (TrIFN-c) is an unprecedented example of IFN-c being produced spontaneously by an epithelium. We therefore studied some of its structural and biochemical properties, by comparison with pig IFN-c from other sources, either natural LeIFN-c (from adult leucocytes), or recombinant. ...

Penaeidins are a family of antimicrobial peptides constitutively produced and stored in the haemocytes of penaeid shrimp. In response to microbial stimulation, they are released into the blood circulation and they further attach to shrimp cuticle surfaces through a chitin-binding property. In the present paper, we have analysed their expression, regulation and distribution in shrimp tissues in response to experimental microbial challenge.
