This paper aims to enhance computational performance for behavior prediction of tri-directional functionally graded plates using ensemble learning methods such as random forest, extreme gradient boosting, and light gradient boosting machine. Furthermore, the effectiveness of these methods is verified by comparing their results with those of artificial neural networks.

In this paper, we propose an effective AMC using deep learning (DL) for flexible and adaptive OFDM-based optical networks. The proposed DL-based AMC is able to classify four typical modulation schemes such as binary phase-shift keying (BPSK), quadrature PSK (QPSK), 8-PSK, and 16- quadrature amplitude modulation (QAM) in dynamic network conditions.

This research presents a detailed evaluation of the total active power loss (TAPL) under different placements of photovoltaic power plants (PVPs) in the electric distribution network (EDN) IEEE 33-node. Three study cases have been conducted to serve the initial intention, including 1) optimizing both rated power and position of a PVP on selected EDN; 2) optimizing the positions of different quantities of PVPs independently to the grid with the same rated power, and 3) optimizing a sole PVP with a wide range of rated power.

This paper demonstrates that, using multiple data points around each gateway allows for the creation of accurate coverage heat maps by using a proposed LoRaWAN coverage estimation algorithm. The modelling of traffic flow using methods and models from physics has a long history. In recent years especially cellular automata models have allowed for large-scale simulations of large traffic networks faster than real time. On the other hand, these systems are interesting for physicists since they allow to observe genuine nonequilibrium effects. Here the current status of cellular automata models for traffic flow is reviewed with special emphasis on nonequilibrium effects (e.g. phase transitions) induced by on- and off-ramps.
