In this thesis, focus on the wireless links between devices equipped by deployed operating personnel and intermediary access point infrastructure. We use multi-radio (MR) platforms, wireless devices with multiple and diverse transceiver technologies, to produce robust and reliable links through adaptive control of available transceivers. Primarily, we study the application of intelligent control techniques, namely reinforcement learning (RL), for adaptive control over diverse transceivers to achieve the desired robustness and reliability under dynamic environmental conditions.

This thesis presents the following contributions. First, it is identified that disturbance estimation based networks utilised for compensation possess the same polynomial architectures as signal conditioning anti-windup and their equivalents. Next, an appropriate strategy is identified to integrate disturbance compensation for finite-controlset optimisation schemes via the constraint set rather than the cost function to maintain a simple and elegant problem structure.

The thesis aims to propose some control techniques for mobile target Robot-camera. After that, I studied some of the torque control techniques of joints for the Robot-camera system sticking to the mobile target and the Robot-camera system, paying attention to the motivating motor sticking to the mobile target. Finally, the author also proposed some control algorithms for Robotic-camera arm system with irregular model, external noise and preventing system degradation, using nonlinear sliding controller (TSMC) in combination with Artificial neural networks to estimate uncertain numbers.

The most complicated part in DiffServ implementation belongs to AF BHP. Indeed, the complication of AF comes not only from its architecture, but also from its goals. This paper will propose a method to implement AFij of AF BHP at core routers in DiffServ networks. Using this method, we can make AF subclasses (AFij ) easily. Moreover, the performance of the system will be better since the mechanism has congestion control ability and fair sharing between subclasses in an AF class.

The proposed adaptive controller allows the design of a feedback control that stabilizes self-balancing control of eScooter in the presence of uncertainty and perturbation. Additionally, the sensor signals are treated by Kalman filters and the CAN networks are applied to communication among modules of eScooter. Simulation and experiment results are shown to analyze and validate the performance of proposed controller.

This paper proposes a new control method for Pan-Tilt stereo camera system to track a moving object when there are many uncertainties in the parameters of both camera and Pan-Tilt platform. If a pair of cameras placed on the Pan-Tilt robot, it is unnecessary for its installation location to be determined accurately.

This thesis addresses two neural network based control systems. The first is a neural network based predictive controller. System identification and controller design are discussed. The second is a direct neural network controller. Parameter choice and training methods are discussed. Both controllers are tested on two different plants. Problems regarding implementations are discussed. First the neural network based predictive controller is introduced as an extension to the generalised predictive controller (GPC) to allow control of non-linear plant.
