In Vietnam, there is not enough sand from the river for the construction operation, and it is necessary to find other resources to replace it. Marine sand was distributed in large areasin the coastal area of Vietnam and was not used for rural roads. This paper presents experimental results on the workability and compressive strength of concrete which was made from Nghe An and Ha Tinh marine sand.

There are four major categories of catastrophic failure which exists in the boiler itself. 1. Melt down. This is a result of the heating surface metal reaching its melting point. It is a result of the boiler operating on very low water conditions. This by itself will not cause an explosion but will do major damage to the boiler and create a dangerous situation which could lead to an explosion.

This research is built upon the determination of the Eigenpairs of one and two dimensional positive differential operators with periodic boundary conditions. The Schrödinger equation was solved for positive operators in both one and two dimensions. Fourier series were used to express the derivatives as the summation of Fourier terms. This led to a novel approach for the calculation of the eigenmodels of a perturbed potential well. The perturbation can be done via an electric field applied to the potential well.

This paper aims to provide a clearer picture of the main functions of short-term expatriate assignments. It is based on the results from an empirical study with involving 84 interviewees from different companies located in different host countries. The interviewees were managers mainly from Malaysian, Australian, and Singaporean companies that operated internationally. The duration of the interviews was in average of 1 hour 30 minutes. Extensive notes and voice recordings were made during the interviews.

This study examined the phenomenon of residual protection by suspending the operation of established ICCP systems in two wharves located in southern Victoria and monitoring the effect on the passivity of the steel via electrochemical testing. The results of the study confirm that the steel in selected elements within these structures remained passive once the ICCP system was interrupted. The primary factor in determining which elements remained passive, and the duration of passivity was the amount of charge injected into the element over the life of the ICCP system.

The infinite system of differential equations for the nonequilibrium Green functions of electrons in a single-level quantum dot connected with two conducting leads is truncated by applying the mean-field approximation to the mean values of the products of four operators. As the result the system of Dyson equations for the two-point real-time nonequilibrium Green functions in the Keldysh formalism as well as that of the two-point imaginary-time Green functions are derived.

The results of simulated transients for three typical PWR accidents are presented: a turbine trip with station blackout, a large break loss of coolant accident and a small break loss of coolant accident. The analyses show that the safety criteria are respected and that the reactor quickly reaches a safe shutdown state without operator action and external power.

In this work, the equipment was used to investigate the distribution of lithium (7Li) and boron (11B) in the outer oxide at the bow contact area. Depth profiling in the clad oxide at the opposite side of the rod to the point of contact, which is considered to have experienced normal operating conditions and which has a typical oxide thickness, evidenced levels of ∼10–20 ppm 7Li and a 11B content reaching hundreds of ppm in the outer parts of the oxide, largely in agreement with the expected range of Li and B clad oxide concentrations from previous studies.

To evaluate the role of laparoscopy in diagnosis of post-operative small bowel obstruction. Subjects and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted from June, 2012 to June, 2019 on 99 patients with post-operative small intestinal obstruction, who laparoscopically diagnosed at Trung Vuong Emergency Hospital, Hochiminh City. Results: Using laparoscopy, the successful rate of diagnosis of small bowel obstruction was 92.9%, among which 83.8% had been diagnosed with the site of obstruction, and 80.8% with the cause of obstruction.
