In this paper, we propose an improvement of our previous protocol for geographic routing in wireless sensor networks. The original protocol uses a combination of greedy forwarding and recovery strategies for route discovery. At the same time, shortcut paths are created and then each of these paths is gradually made shorter than the one preceding.

In this paper, a method which intends to provide the motion in every point of the path with possible maximum velocity is described. In fact, the path is divided to transient and cruising parts and the maximum velocities are required only for the latter. The given motion is called “Time-optimal cruising motion”. Using the parametric method of motion planning, the equations for determining the motions are given.

This paper considers the problem of dynamic survivable routing in WDM networks with single link failure model. This work mainly concerns in how to dynamically determine a protection cycle (i.e., two link-disjoint paths between a node pair) to establish a dependable lightpath with backup paths sharing. The problem is identified as NP-complete, thus a heuristic for finding near optimal solution with reasonable computation time is usually preferred.
