This paper studied the synthesis of calcium oxide (CaO) from snail shells by calcination, crushing, and grinding. Then, the sample was analyzed by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), specific surface area (BET), and particle size.

In this study, spinel ferrite nanoparticles CoFe2-xLaxO4 (x = 0, 0.025, and 0.05) were successfully synthesized via a simple co-precipitation method using a 5% NaOH solution as a precipitating agent. The physicochemical properties of the materials, annealed at 850 °C for one hour, were characterized using powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), and vibrating-sample magnetometry (VSM) at room temperature.

Periodontitis is a chronic bacterial infection destroying tooth-supporting tissues. Like metronidazole, tinidazole (TNZ) is also effective in treating periodontitis. This study aimed to formulate and optimize TNZ nanoparticles and evaluate their physicochemical properties.

The thesis aims to successfully fabricate NaHAp films doped separately and simultaneously with microelements: sodium, magnesium, strontium, fluorine, copper, silver and zinc on 316L stainless steel substrate to meet the requirement of screw bracing bone. Study on physicochemical characteristics, study on toxicity, antibacterial ability and bio-compatibility of NaHAp films separately and concurrently with trace elements.

Random PCR mutagenesis was applied to theThermus thermophilus xylA gene encoding xylose isomerase. Three cold-adapted mutants were isolated with the following amino-acid substitutions: E372G, V379A (M-1021), E372G, F163L (M-1024) and E372G (M-1026). The wild-type and mutated xylAgenes were cloned and expressed in Escherichia coliHB101 using the vector pGEMÒ-T Easy, and their physicochemical and catalytic properties were determined.

We report a comprehensive physicochemical characteriza-tion of a glycoglycerolipid from Mycoplasma fermentans, MfGl-II, in relation to its bioactivityand compared thiswith the respective behaviors of phosphatidylcholine (PC) and a bacterial glycolipid, lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from deep rough mutantSalmonella minnesotastrain R595. Theb«a gel-to-liquid crystalline phase transition behavior of the hydrocarbon chains withTc¼30Cfor MfGl-II as well as for LPS exhibits high similarity between the two glycolipids.

Lipopolysaccharide (LPS) from the outer membrane of Gram-negative bac-teria belongs to the most potent activators of the mammalian immune sys-tem. Its lipid moiety, lipid A, the ‘endotoxic principle’ of LPS, carries two negatively charged phosphate groups and six acyl chain residues in a defined asymmetric distribution (corresponding to synthetic compound 506). Tetraacyl lipid A (precursor IVa or synthetic 406), which lacks the two hydroxylated acyl chains, is agonistically completely inactive, but is a strong antagonist to bioactive LPS when administered to the cells before LPS addition. .

NovelN,N¢-diacyl-1,3-diaminopropyl-2-carbamoyl bivalent cationic lipids were synthesized and their physicochemical properties in lamellar assemblies with and without plasmid DNA were evaluated to elucidate the structural requirements of these double-chained pH-sensitive surfactants for potent non-viral gene delivery and expression.
