This study investigates how different test parameters—such as flow rate, soil type, moisture content, and confining conditions—affect the erosion behavior of soils. Through controlled hydraulic erosion tests, the research identifies key factors influencing critical shear stress and erosion rates. The findings aim to enhance understanding of soil stability in engineering applications and inform the design of erosion-resistant structures.

The present paper also includes strength prediction models that consider the influence of curing temperature. In addition, the Thermogravimetry analysis (TGA) used to determine the chemically bound water content in cement-treated soil and the X-ray diffraction (XRD) test to explain the chemical mechanism in cement-treated soil are also mentioned.

The study was carried out during 2013-14 in Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh state to focus on the sugarcane growers regarding impact of knowledge on adoption level of IPM practices. The 80 contact farmers were selected as respondents. The study revealed that the maximum knowledge gap was found to be existing in previous crop residues, crop rotation, hand picking of the insect and their destruction, hot air and water treatment, light and pheromone trap, microbial control, use of natural enemies, resistant varieties, biopesticides/ bio-agents, application and dose of different pest etc.
