In this study, we synthesized hydroxyapatite (HA) on polyvinyl alcohol/TiO2 (PVA/TiO2) in which TiO2 was prepared by the sol-gel method. HA was formed by immersing the membrane in the simulated body fluid (SBF) solution. We improved the mechanical strength of the membranes by adding glutaraldehyde (GA) combining with heat treatment to cross-link the polymer network.

This study develops an online unmanned UAV path-planning strategy for autonomous search and localisation of RF emitter. The UAV is equipped with Receiver Signal Strength (RSS) sensors to localise stationary radio frequency (RF) emitter. A high-fidelity non-linear measurement model of RF propagation in an urban environment is adopted for this purpose. The measurement model of the likelihood function is considered a Gaussian mixture.

There were only limited researches on the properties of 3D periodic cellular materials, especially for 3D periodic cellular materials with Schwarz primitive structure which have potential to be used for energy absorption. The objective of this study is to investigate the energy absorption, compressive strength and deformation pattern of the 3D periodic cellular materials with Schwarz primitive structure, which possesses optimum bulk modulus. The study is planned to provide these important research issues of such 3D cellular materials for energy absorption applications.

While it is recognised that knitted fabrics may have their place in firefighting PPC, especially for undergarments, from the point of view of fire performance, strength and presentation, woven fabric constructions appear to be more suitable for work wear applications. Hence, this study is concerned with developing and testing a range of functional, woven Station Wear fabrics designed to enhance flame protection, durability and thermo-physiological comfort properties. Steel fiber reinforced concrete (SFRC) is a multiple-composite material developed during the early 1970s. In SFRC, short steel fibers are randomly distributed in concrete. Steel fibers can prevent the development of micro-cracks inside the concrete and reduce the expansion and development of the macro-cracks, thus enhance mechanical performance of SFRC. However, there is lack of studies on the influence of flowability of fresh SFRC on the steel fiber distribution patterns and mechanical properties of hardened SFRC.

The investigation of magnetic field strength variations over subterranean layers may reveal their locations on Earth’s surface and provide physical and geometrical characteristics. Magnetic studies were carried out around Gölcük caldera lake using proton magnetometers to identify subsurface volcanic structures. The acquired data were inverted using four different edge detection algorithms such as analytic signal, tilt angle, theta map, horizontal gradient. Afterwards, the results were used to determine the locations of the anomalous structures.
