This study aimed to determine the effects of self-questioning on pre-intermediate EFL students’ reading comprehension and explore their perceptions of learning to read with self-questioning. A quasi-experimental design was carried out among two groups of sixty-eight Vietnamese pre-intermediate students over a nine-week reading course using self-questioning and teacher-posed questions.

This study aims to investigate the level of academic self-efficacy, academic satisfaction, and the relationship between academic self-efficacy and academic satisfaction among Hue University students. 771 students participated in the questionnaires about academic self-efficacy and academic satisfaction. Descriptive statistics, correlation analysis, and One-way ANOVA analysis were performed to answer three research questions.

Their self-report active participation in the e-quizzes and follow-up teacher/peer feedback sessions demonstrated high levels of behavioral engagement. Students were, however, slightly less in agreement with the benefits of Quizizz in enhancing their self-monitoring and critical thinking skills. Some reservations remain about technical problems during quiz administration and the use of scores in Quizizz gamified tests for summative assessment purposes.

Whilst the level of CQ and the factors that influence CQ have been investigated among business students, it has not been applied to the academics responsible for their education. In the context of CQ, there is a lack of knowledge regarding the capacity or preparedness of university academics to deal with the increasing phenomenon of multiculturalism in the classroom.
