Supporting technology

This article examines the experiences of three countries: China, India, and Malaysia. Lessons learned from these countries show the need for a comprehensive green technology program, and financial and non-financial support policies from the state to promote research and development (R&D), raise public awareness, and flexibly adapt to the domestic context. They are the key elements for Vietnam to promote green technology application, towards long-term sustainable development.

This qualitative study scrutinize scommon factors influencing ICT integration among university-level EFL teachers in a Vietnamese context. The paper "Hardware implementation for entropy coding and byte stream packing engine in H.264/AVC" propose hardware architecture of entropy encoding and byte stream data packing engines for the H.264/AVC. Our entropy coding engine, that contains Exp-Golomb and Context-Adaptive Variable Length Coding (CAVLC), supports baseline and main profile of the standard. The proposed architecture is implemented using 180nm technology from AMS. The design consumes only 1.56mW at the operating frequency of 100MHz.

This thesis develops understanding of the appropriation of information technology (IT) artefacts over time. Perceptions that the whole lifecycle of IT use, from pre-use, then initial use through to adaptive and stabilised use is not well understood were evaluated and supported in the initial part of the study. A generic lifecycle model of use, the model of technology appropriation (MTA), was chosen as the foundational theory for this thesis because it covers the entire IT use lifecycle, and it can be contextualised for different technologies, and user cohorts.
