This article focuses on the aerodynamic and acoustic characteristics of both an isolated propeller model and a propeller - boundary surface model. The study uses the Reynoldsaveraged Navier-Stokes (RANS) method combined with Computational Fluid Dynamics techniques to analyze the flow field and wake flow behind the propeller and to determine its basic aerodynamic coefficients.

The linear governing equations of a micropolar thermoelastic medium without energy dissipation are solved for surface wave solutions. The appropriate solutions satisfying the radiation conditions are applied to the required boundary conditions at the free surface of the half-space of the medium.

In this paper, we prove global second derivative estimates for solutions of the Dirichlet problem for the Monge-Amp`re equation when the inhomogee neous term is only assumed to be H¨lder continuous. As a consequence of our o approach, we also establish the existence and uniqueness of globally smooth solutions to the second boundary value problem for the affine maximal surface equation and affine mean curvature equation.

Annals of Mathematics We study the motion of an incompressible perfect liquid body in vacuum. This can be thought of as a model for the motion of the ocean or a star. The free surface moves with the velocity of the liquid and the pressure vanishes on the free surface. This leads to a free boundary problem for Euler’s equations, where the regularity of the boundary enters to highest order. We prove local existence in Sobolev spaces assuming a “physical condition”, related to the fact that the pressure of a fluid has to be positive. ...

In this paper we will discuss the geometry of finite topology properly embedded minimal surfaces M in R3 . M of finite topology means M is homeomorphic to a compact surface M (of genus k and empty boundary) minus a finite number of points p1 , ..., pj ∈ M , called the punctures. A closed neighborhood E of a puncture in M is called an end of M . We will choose the ends sufficiently small so they are topologically S 1 × [0, 1) and hence, annular. We remark that M is orientable since M is properly...

R´sum´ anglais e e For a hyperbolic metric on a 3-dimensional manifold, the boundary of its convex core is a surface which is almost everywhere totally geodesic, but which is bent along a family of disjoint geodesics. The locus and intensity of this bending is described by a measured geodesic lamination, which is a topological object.

This paper considers a trapped characteristic initial value problem for the spherically symmetric Einstein-Maxwell-scalar field equations. For an open set of initial data whose closure contains in particular Reissner-Nordstr¨m data, o the future boundary of the maximal domain of development is found to be a light-like surface along which the curvature blows up, and yet the metric can be continuously extended beyond it. This result is related to the strong cosmic censorship conjecture of Roger Penrose. ...
