Task based language teaching approach

This study investigates the application of task-based language (TBL) teaching and learning to teach grammar to 8th graders at Phuc Dien Secondary School. This study was conducted to determine how teachers at Phuc Dien Secondary School utilized TBL in their classes. It also tries to discover the attitudes of students towards applying TBL in teaching grammar and the effectiveness of using TBL to teach grammar compared with traditional methods.

To achieve the general aim, this research seeks out for the following specific objectives: Determining the meaningful effects of TBLT on the students’ improvement in listening ability; exploring how listening skills are taught in listening lessons at FPT High School; suggesting the recommendations for English curriculum designers and instructors/teachers to include useful tasks to students so as to improve their listening ability.

To achieve the above aim, the research is set to fulfill the following objectives: Exploring the effects of Task-Based Learning activities on the students’ speaking skills; investigating the students' attitudes towards learning speaking skills through Task - Based Learning activities.
