The little mermaid

In this paper, we aim to clarify the process of literature-to-film adaptation, specifically focusing on Andersen’s fairy tale The Little Mermaid and its various film adaptations by Disney, through the lens of plot. Thus, we seek to demonstrate that intertextual theory is an open framework, one that is not confined to literature but can also be applied to the analysis of various other art forms.

The little mermaid (nặng 175kg và chỉ cao 1,25m) là một tuyệt tác của nhà điêu khắc tài ba người Đan Mạch Edvard Eriksen (1876 – 1959). Ông thực hiện bức tượng này theo yêu cầu của một người làm nghề ủ bia nhưng rất đam mê nghệ thuật tên là Carl Jacobsen (cũng chính là con trai của người sáng lập hãng bia Carlsberg). Theo yêu cầu của Carl Jacobsen, Edvard Eriksen đã điêu khắc bức tượng The little mermaid dựa trên hình tượng nàng tiên cá trong truyện cổ Andersen, lấy cảm hứng từ dung nhan yêu kiều...
