This study presents the application of a decentralized control structure of multilevel inverters using the level shift carrier pulse width modulation method (LSC-PWM) as the control algorithm. For the traditional control method, the carrier signal is provided by a central controller.

The shift in Raman and change in absorption spectra are evidence that would relate to the structure change or disorder and impurity in the samples. From the above results, a critical substituent content at which the structural phase change takes place is shown.

P-glycoprotein (Pgp), a membrane pump often responsible for the multidrug resistance of cancer cells, undergoes conformational changes in the presence of substrates/modulators, or upon ATP depletion, reflected by its enhanced reactivity with the UIC2 monoclonal antibody. When the UIC2-shift was elicited by certain modulators (e.g. cyclosporin A or vinblastine, but not with verapamil or Tween 80), the subsequent binding of other monoclonal anti-Pgp Ig sharing epitopes with UIC2 (e.g. MM12.10) was abolished [Nagy, H., Goda, K., Arceci, R., Cianfriglia, M., ´ Mechetner, E. & Szabo Jr, G.

Achromobacterprotease I (API) has a unique region of aromatic ring stacking with Trp169–His210in close proxi-mity to the catalytic triad. This paper reveals the electrostatic role of aromatic stacking in the shift in optimum pH to the alkaline region, which is the highest pH range (8.5–10) among chymotrypsin-type serine proteases. The pH-activity profile of API showed a sigmoidal distribution that appears at pH 8–10, with a shoulder at pH 6–8.

Correct sorting of newly synthesized peroxisomal matrix proteins is dependent on a peroxisomal targeting signal (PTS).So far two PTSs are known.PTS1 consists of a tripeptide that is located at the extremeCterminus ofmatrix proteins and is specifically recognized by the PTS1-receptor Pex5p.We studied Hansenula polymorpha Pex5p (HpPex5p) using fluorescence spectroscopy. The intensity of Trp fluorescence of purified HpPex5p increased by 25% upon shifting the pH frompH 6.0 to pH 7.2.

The structural changes produced by the minor-groove binding ligand DAPI (4¢,6-diamidine-2-phenylindole) on individual strands of trinucleotide repeat sequences were detectedby electrophoreticband-shift analysis andrelated to their effects on DNA replication in vitro. Among the 20 possible single-stranded trinucleotide repeats, only theT-rich strand of the AATÆATT triplet exhibits an observable fluorescence band and a change in electrophoretic mobility due to the drug binding.

The fermentation ofb-alanine by Clostridium propionicumproceeds via activation to the CoA-thiol ester, followed by deamination to acryloyl-CoA, which is also an intermediate in the fermentation ofl-alanine. By shifting the organism from the carbon and energy source a-alanine to b-alanine, the enzyme b-alanyl-CoA:ammonia lyase is induced 300-fold (30% of the soluble protein). The low basal lyase activity is encoded by theacl1gene, whereas the almost identicalacl2gene (six amino acid substi-tutions) is responsible for the high activity after growth on b-alanine....

A highly purified cytochromeb6f complex from the cyanobacterium Syn-echocystissp. PCC 6803 selectively binds one chlorophyll a and one caro-tenoid in analogy to the recent published structure from two other b6 f complexes. The unknown function of these pigments was elucidated by spectroscopy and site-directed mutagenesis. Low-temperature redox differ-ence spectroscopy showed red shifts in the chlorophyll and carotenoid spec-tra upon reduction of cytochrome b6, which indicates coupling of these pigments with the heme groups and thereby with the electron transport....

The NMR solution structures of NTX-1 (PDB code 1W6B and BMRB 6288), a long neurotoxin isolated from the venom ofNaja naja oxiana, and the molecular dynamics simulation of these structures are reported. Calculations are based on 1114NOEs, 19 hydrogen bonds, 19 dihedral angle restraints and secondary chemical shifts derived from 1 Hto 13 C HSQC spectrum. Similar to other long neurotoxins, the three-finger like structure shows a double and a triple strandedb-sheet aswell as some flexible regions, particularly at the tip of loop II and the C-terminal tail....

The effects of high hydrostatic pressure (HHP) and urea on conformational transitions of humana-thrombin structure were studiedbyfluorescence spectroscopy andbymeasuring the catalytic activity of the enzyme. Treatment of thrombin with urea produced a progressive red shift in the center of mass of the intrinsic fluorescence emission spectrum, with a maximum displacement of 650 cm )1 . HHP (270 MPa) shifted the centre ofmass by only 370 cm )1 .HHP combined with a subdenaturing urea concentration (1.5M) displaced the centre of mass by 750 cm )1 ....

l-Rhamnose isomerase (l-RhI) catalyzes the reversible isomerization of l-rhamnose to l-rhamnulose. Pseudomonas stutzeril-RhI, with a broad substrate specificity, can catalyze not only the isomerization ofl-rhamnose, but also that betweend-allose andd-psicose. For the aldose–ketose isomer-ization by l-RhI, a metal-mediated hydride-shift mechanism has been proposed, but the catalytic mechanism is still not entirely understood.

Since the subject of nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) was awarded its first Nobel Prize in 1952 due to its successful detection by Bloch and Purcell in 1945, the technology and its applications have developed tremendously. The first two decades were focused on technical developments of instrumentation and methodologies to apply to the structure determination of compounds. During the late 1970s, several research groups developed modifications of NMR probes to convert them to an online mode for the analysis of sample mixtures....
