The study was carried out by retrospective descriptive method with the list of drugs used at the hospital in 2021 including 237 drugs. Results: Class A drugs accounted for 20.25% of the total number of drugs, accounting for 80% of the use value; class B drugs accounted for 21.52% in quantity and 14.94% in use value; class C drugs accounted for 58.23% in quantity and 5.06% in use value. In class A, the class of traditional medicine preparations accounts for 18.75% in quantity and 21.56% in use value.

As science and technology has developed, the manner by which drugs can be delivered has grown. Medicines may be taken orally, applied as topical pastes, creams or oils, patches or administered by direct injection to the body. This research explores an alternative method for the delivery of therapeutic compounds to the body. The basis of the study involves the application of traditional medicinal compounds used to cure minor neck and back pains through transdermal topical application, using a textile substrate as the carrier.

Mugwort (Artemisia vulgaris L.) is a familiar herbal medicine and also a daily vegetable. It is one of the ingredients in the famous remedy "Cao ích mẫu" specializing in menstrual disorders or the omelet with mugwort that helps save blood flow to the brain to treat headaches. In both traditional medicine and the new drugs, diseases are usually treated by mugwort as diabetes, epilepsy combination for psychoneurosis, depression, irritability, insomnia, anxiety, and stress. The study was to identify tree foliages fed to dairy animals in Mizoram, to screen and quantify the phytochemicals and to survey traditional medicinal uses. Surveys conducted on 45 dairy farmers of 15 randomly selected villages of RDBs of Aizawl district, Mizoram (namely, Tlangnuam, Thingsulthiah and Aibawk). Aqueous extracts of representative leaf samples were made for phytochemical screening and quantification by following different procedures. The study revealed usages of 41 different tree foliages out of which 21 were evergreen.

In Vietnam, lotus plants are widely grown. Some parts of the lotus plant have been used as a tradition medicine. The lotus plant is easy to find, inexpensive, non-toxic and accepted by many Vietnamese people as a means of treating diabetes, and yet data on the mechanism or even effectiveness of lotus leaf on diabetes mellitus was not known. The present study was designed to evaluate the hypoglycemic effect of lotus leaf on mice which had alloxan induced diabetes.

Nuclear factor erythroid-2 related factor 2 (Nrf2) is a crucial transcription factor that regulates the expression of defensive antioxidants and detoxification enzymes in cells. In a previous study, we showed that expression of the Nrf2 gene is regulated by an epigenetic modification. Rauvolfia verticillata, a traditional Chinese herbal medicine widely used in China, possesses anticancer and antioxidant effects. In this study, we investigated how Nrf2 is epigenetically regulated by reserpine, the main active component in R. verticillata, in mouse skin epidermal JB6 P+ cells.

Helicteres hirsuta Lour., particularly its stems and leaves have been used in Vietnamese traditional medicine to cure furuncles, dysentery, measles and flu. In this study, we examined biological activities of 5 fractions from methanol extract of H. hirsuta roots. The results showed that ethyl acetate fraction has the highest content of phenolic and flavonoid compounds (220.9 ± 15.67 mg GAE, gallic acid equivalents/g dry weight and 23.03 ± 0.97 mg QE, quercetin equivalents/g dry weight, respectively).

In our studies on the phytochemistry and biological activities of Croton tonkinensis Gagnep. (Euphorbiaceae) oriented by traditional medicine interesting biological activities of the plant were demonstrated in correlation with the ent-kaurane-type diterpenoid constituents. The rhizome of Angelica sinensis (Oliv.) Diels (Umbelliferae) is known as "Danggui" in China, has been used widely in traditional Chinese medicine to treat irregular menstruation, anaemia, headache, hypertension, chronic asthma and rheumatism. From the ethyl acetate extract of its roots four phthalides have been isolated. Their structures were identified by MS and NMR spectroscopic methods to be (Z)-3-butylidenphthalide, senkyunolide H, senkyunolide I and dihydroxyligustilide.

Croton tonkinensis Gagnep., commonly named in Vietnamese as "Kho sam Bac Bo", is a tropical shrub native to the Northern Vietnam. Its dried leaves (Folium Tonkinensis) have been used in Vietnamese traditional medicine to treat boils, abscesses, impetigo, abdominal pain, dyspepsia, dysentery, gastric and duodenal ulcers [1, 2]. The plant is of our interest since its varied biological activities demonstrated in our various in vitro bioassays including anti-inflammatory, anticancer, antiplasmodial, antibacterial and antifungal.

The K103N substitution is a frequently observed HIV-1 RT mutation in patients who do not respond to combinationtherapy. The drugs Efavirenz, MSC194 and PNU142721 belong to the recent generation of NNRTIs characterized by an improved resistance profile to the most common single point mutations within HIV-1 RT, including the K103N mutation. In the present study we present structural observations from Efavirenz in complex with wild-type protein and the K103N mutant and PNU142721 and MSC194 in complex with the K103N mutant.
