The process of integrating with the popularity of digital technology has changed the way of financial accounting practices, as well as posed certain requirements on the capacity of the account and audit team. However, in fact, every year, Vietnam has tens of thousands of students graduating from colleges and universities that are major in accounting and auditing but they can not immediately meet the requirements of businesses, they even have to be retrained. Therefore, improving the quality of training is an urgent requirement for the accounting and auditing field nowadays.

This study investigates students’ expectations and experiences of blended learning at Hanoi Open University, Vietnam. In recent years, the Vietnamese government has produced a number of polices advocating the use of ICT in education, including blended learning, aligning this implementation with its goals to modernise. While there has been considerable research around blended learning in higher education in the west, including in the USA, UK and Australia, research in Vietnam is relatively new.

The current study adopted sociocultural discourse analysis framework to analyze scaffolding in verbal interaction in EFL university classes. The students were learning English from a prescribed textbook. Recorded talks of these students and their teachers in their natural classroom settings were sequenced to explore the role of scaffolding.

This study was conducted at some universities in Ho Chi Minh city in Vietnam. The objectives aimed at finding out the similarities and differences in teachers’ and students’ beliefs about classroom interactions in large non-English majored classes and how teachers’ and students’ beliefs about classroom interactions corresponded to their actual practice.
