This study applies Wavelet analysis to develop a comprehensive method for detecting damage in spiral bevel gears within automotive drive systems. By utilising Wavelet analysis to examine the vibration signals of the gears, it is possible to identify spatial and temporal variations in the signals, thereby detecting signs of damage in the system.

This paper applies the homotopy analysis method to study nonlinear free vibrations. The paper has used the homotopy analysis method to find analytical solutions of a nonlinear two-degree-of-freedom system. Analytical results have found the natural oscillation frequencies, the displacement formula of the system are approximately calculated at the 10th order.

The primary objective of this work is to study the aerodynamic pressures on Mirror Surface at Various speeds to determine the effects of aerodynamics on to Mirror vibration. Additionally, the Mirror was modified by Shrouding around the external periphery to determine the possibility of minimisation of aerodynamic pressure fluctuations and thereby vibration. The Shrouding length used for the analysis was of 24mm, 34mm and 44mm length.

The displacement mode shapes acquired were then converted into curvature mode shapes with the help of a Central Difference Approximation method (CDA).

The method is partly analytical and partly numerical and is based on combining of linear solutions of different sections in a cycle of motion.
