  • In this study, we evaluated and compared the effectiveness of four different protocols (D, MJ, MA, and S) for separating MPs from water of different types (brackish, marine, and river). Known combinations of MP particles (polyethylene (PE), polyethylene terephthalate (PET), polystyrene (PS) and polyvinyl chloride (PVC) with size ranging between 150 μm and 700 μm were spiked into water samples. Our results showed that the average recovery effectiveness of microplastics using four studied methods ranged from 53% to 86%.

  • In this work, nano-SiO2 have been used as nanocarriers for loading Ce(III) ions (SiO2@Ce3+). After loading, silane coupling agent has been used to modify these nanocarriers (m-SiO2@Ce3+). Then, these modified nanocarriers were added as green inhibitors into the inner epoxy coating matrix, which was based on the epoxy resin (DER 671X75) and hardener (polyamide Epicure 3125). Morphological study by FE-SEM showed that the spherical nanoparticles (mSiO2@Ce3+) were in size < 100 nm and dispersed rather homogeneously into the polyme matrix.

  • This article, we present a thorough and straightforward hydrothermal method towards the production of reduced graphene oxide templated MIL-53(Fe) hybrids RGO@MIL-53(Fe). The structural characteristics of created hybrids were identified by using BET, FESEM, powder X-ray diffraction, and FTIR techniques. Methylene blue (MB) dye (a model water pollutant) was used to evaluate H2O2-assisted photo-catalytic efficiency of RGO@MIL-53(Fe).

  • In this study, we propose a novel approach for the synthesis of AISe core and highly luminescent AISe/ZnS core/shell NCs in a 2-step procedure. First, the AISe core NCs were produced using both glutathione and citric acid as dual stabilizers at 96 °C for 20 min at different pH values of the reaction solution.

  • This review is divided in three main sections. The first section examines the understanding of water security in the broader context in which the concept has emerged and has been used. The second section addresses the relationship between water security and international law, and the former’s multi-scalar dimensions. The third section considers the contributions of the literature relating to international water law and other branches of international law to framing and developing the concept of water security.

  • In this study, MCS is applied to compute the reliability of the nodes and the network under uncertain demand and roughness, and to determine how reliability is distributed among the various nodes of WDN, as well as assessing the reliability of the network as a series or parallel system. The effect of the resilience index on the nodal and network reliability is also assessed.

  • This research investigates an innovative approach to augmenting the current evaporation pond disposal approach used in Australia, and other regions around the world. The augmentation involves the incorporation of solar plate collector technology. The technology is widely used across the world to collect solar power to drive a range of commercial and domestic applications, most commonly solar hot water systems.

  • This study focuses on the stability of nano-emulsions produced by phase inversion temperature method using n-Decane and n-Dodecane as the dispersed phase and pure water/brine as the aqueous phase (continuous phase). A non-ionic surfactant (Brij 30) was used in the preparation of the nano-emulsions. Three different types salt namely \(NaCl\), \(KCl\) and \(MgC{l_2}\) were used at different concentrations.

  • The aim of this research was to investigate the formation of hydrogen sulphide for different sewage characteristics and flow rates. An experimental set-up was developed to simulate a section of a gravity sewer pipe, the set-up comprised of a pipe of 2 m long and 155 mm inside diameter, referred to in this thesis as a laboratory sewer pipe. The first stage of the experimental program involved developing a biological growth rich in sulphate-reducing bacteria inside the laboratory sewer pipe using synthetic sewage.

  • The growth of waterborne pathogens and the discharge of partially treated or non-treated chemical waste has become a severe environmental and health risk. Conventional wastewater treatment methods have become less effective, and most current techniques require multiple stages for the disinfection of antimicrobial-resistant (AMR) pathogens and the combined removal of toxic, non-biodegradable, or emerging priority pollutants from wastewater.
