There are many results involving PDEs in fluid mechanics with delays and many results about asymptotic behavior to PDEs. Navier-Stokes equations with delays have been studied extensively over the last decades, for their important contributions to understanding fluid motion and turbulence.

The solution structure of three small serine proteinase inhibitors, two natural and one engineered protein, SGCI (Schistocerca gregaria chymotrypsin inhibitor), SGCI[L30R, K31M] and SGTI (Schistocerca gregaria trypsin inhibitor), were determined by homonuclear NMR-spectroscopy. The molecules exhibit dierent speci®cities towards target proteinases, where SGCI is a good chymo-trypsin inhibitor, itsmutant is apotent trypsin inhibitor, and SGTI inhibits both proteinases weakly.

We study enhancement of diffusive mixing on a compact Riemannian manifold by a fast incompressible flow. Our main result is a sharp description of the class of flows that make the deviation of the solution from its average arbitrarily small in an arbitrarily short time, provided that the flow amplitude is large enough. The necessary and sufficient condition on such flows is expressed naturally in terms of the spectral properties of the dynamical system associated with the flow. In particular, we find that weakly mixing flows always enhance dissipation in this sense. ...

EXISTENCE AND MULTIPLICITY OF WEAK SOLUTIONS FOR A CLASS OF DEGENERATE NONLINEAR ELLIPTIC EQUATIONS ˘ MIHAI MIHAILESCU Received 11 January 2005; Revised 4 July 2005; Accepted 17 July 2005 The goal of this paper is to study the existence and the multiplicity of non-trivial weak solutions for some degenerate nonlinear elliptic equations on the whole space RN . The solutions will be obtained in a subspace of the Sobolev space W 1,p (RN ). The proofs rely essentially on the Mountain Pass theorem and on Ekeland’s Variational principle. MONOTONE ITERATIVE TECHNIQUE FOR SEMILINEAR ELLIPTIC SYSTEMS A. S. VATSALA AND JIE YANG Received 27 September 2004 and in revised form 23 January 2005 We develop monotone iterative technique for a system of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems when the forcing function is the sum of Caratheodory functions which are nondecreasing and nonincreasing, respectively. The splitting of the forcing function leads to four different types of coupled weak upper and lower solutions. In this paper, relative to two of these coupled upper and lower solutions, we develop monotone iterative technique.

ON DELAY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS WITH NONLINEAR BOUNDARY CONDITIONS TADEUSZ JANKOWSKI Received 21 July 2004 The monotone iterative method is used to obtain sufficient conditions which guarantee that a delay differential equation with a nonlinear boundary condition has quasisolutions, extremal solutions, or a unique solution. Such results are obtained using techniques of weakly coupled lower and upper solutions or lower and upper solutions. Corresponding results are also obtained for such problems with more delayed arguments.

MULTIPLICITY RESULTS FOR A CLASS OF ASYMMETRIC WEAKLY COUPLED SYSTEMS OF SECOND-ORDER ORDINARY DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS FRANCESCA DALBONO AND P. J. MCKENNA Received 1 November 2004 We prove the existence and multiplicity of solutions to a two-point boundary value problem associated to a weakly coupled system of asymmetric second-order equations. Applying a classical change of variables, we transform the initial problem into an equivalent problem whose solutions can be characterized by their nodal properties.

BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR THE 2ND-ORDER SEIBERG-WITTEN EQUATIONS CELSO MELCHIADES DORIA Received 8
BOUNDARY VALUE PROBLEMS FOR THE 2ND-ORDER SEIBERG-WITTEN EQUATIONS CELSO MELCHIADES DORIA Received 8 June 2004 It is shown that the nonhomogeneous Dirichlet and Neuman problems for the 2nd-order Seiberg-Witten equation on a compact 4-manifold X admit a regular solution once the nonhomogeneous Palais-Smale condition is satisfied. The approach consists in applying the elliptic techniques to the variational setting of the Seiberg-Witten equation. The gauge invariance of the functional allows to restrict the problem to the Coulomb subspace C of configuration space.

ON WEAK SOLUTIONS OF THE EQUATIONS OF MOTION OF A VISCOELASTIC MEDIUM WITH VARIABLE BOUNDARY V. G. ZVYAGIN AND V. P. ORLOV Received 2 September 2005 The regularized system of equations for one model of a viscoelastic medium with memory along trajectories of the field of velocities is under consideration. The case of a changing domain is studied. We investigate the weak solvability of an initial boundary value problem for this system. 1. Introduction The purpose of the present paper is an extension of the result of [21] on the case of a changing domain. Let Ωt ∈ Rn , 2 ≤...
