Parallel computing

In this study, MCS is applied to compute the reliability of the nodes and the network under uncertain demand and roughness, and to determine how reliability is distributed among the various nodes of WDN, as well as assessing the reliability of the network as a series or parallel system. The effect of the resilience index on the nodal and network reliability is also assessed.

In this paper, we estimate the scale of time consumption of such calculation in comparison to that of time-independent calculation, and present our solution to the problem by using parallel computing as implementing both MPI and OpenMP to the calculation. We also discuss the possibility to exploit parallel computing with GPU in the near future, and the preliminary results of time-dependent spectral function.

In this paper we present two parallel algorithms for mining association rules that are well suited for distributed memory parallel computers. The algorithms are developed based on FP-growth method. The first algorithm is a task parallel formulation using a static load balancing technique. The second algorithm improves upon the first algorithm by dynamically balancing the load when the static task assignment leads to load imbalance.
