Probabilistic model

As more Koreans invested in Vietnam, the number of foreign students in Korea increased due to the perception that studying in Korea would be beneficial for employment within Vietnam. Also, the ratio of international students entering graduate school is increasing. In this study, the researches related to Vietnam were investigated, focusing on the articles and papers of journals searched through the Vietnam keyword of the National Assembly Library. We also have examined research trends through Big Data Analysis.

The research provides answers to the above questions with probabilistic approaches and tools to assess the impacts of risk factors on software project scheduling; proposing list of common risk factors and Bayesian Network model of these risk factors; and proposing advanced scheduling methods based on incorporating Bayesian Networks into popular scheduling techniques such as CPM, PERT or agile iteration scheduling etc. Bayesian Networks help quantify the factors, and hence help better manage them as well as enhancing the predictability of things happen in the project.

The simulation results demonstrate the possibilistic particle forward-backward smoothing performs well and improves bearings-only tracking performance. Furthermore, possiblistic smoothing also demonstrates better performance than probabilistic smoothing in model-mismatched case.

The wind speeds of the simulated typhoons and the probable maximum wind speeds are estimated using Monte Carlo simulations, and wind hazard curves are derived as a function of the annual exceedance probability or return period. A logic tree decreases the epistemic uncertainty included in the wind intensity models and provides reasonably acceptable wind speeds.

This paper proposes a new probabilistic algorithm for solving multi-objective optimization problems - Probability-Driven Search Algorithm. The algorithm uses probabilities to control the process in search of Pareto optimal solutions. Especially, we use the absorbing Markov Chain to argue the convergence of the algorithm. Authors test this approach by implementing the algorithm on some benchmark multi-objective optimization problems, and find very good and stable results.

The PageRank algorithm, used in the Google search engine, greatly improves the results of Web search by applying probabilistic model on the link structure of Webs to evaluate the “importance” of Webs.
