In this study, an evaluation of the enantioselective of a chiral flavanone with 2'-OH substitution (5,7,2'- trihydroxyflavanone) on ring C was studied by high performance liquid chromatography using the cellulose tris(3,5- dimethylphenyl carbamate)-based stationary phase with n-hexane and iso-propanol doped with 0.1% (v/v) trifluoroacetic acid as a mobile phase.

The objective of this study was to investigate the effects of positive ferric-bubble on behaviors of chain-like and pin-like algae (i.e. Phormidium specie (sp.) and Nitzchia pungens, respectively). Two selected algae were cultured in a laboratory under the certain conditions. At stationary phase, algae were below 4 µm in diameter and in the range of 50 ~ 100 µm for chainlike algae, of 20 – 35 µm for pin-like shape in length; with negatively charged at cultivated conditions (pH from 6.5 to 9).

Octadecyl grafting silica was synthesized using trimethoxyoctadecyl silane. Reaction conditions were optimized so that the carbon percentage of resulted material was similar to that of commercial products. Temperature and catalyst played very important roles in the reaction. The material was also undergone the end-capping process to reduce unreacted silanol groups.
