Sustainable development

This article aims to understand the trends of the STI policy development in the world in the context of green growth, and sustainable development thereby linking it to Vietnam and identifying the problems posed to it. The article comprises four sections: (1) Trends in green growth, and sustainable development and the role of STI; (2) Green growth and sustainable development requirements for the STI policy development; (3) New trends in the STI policy development in the context of green growth and sustainable development; (4) Implications for STI policy development in Vietnam.

This article examines the experiences of three countries: China, India, and Malaysia. Lessons learned from these countries show the need for a comprehensive green technology program, and financial and non-financial support policies from the state to promote research and development (R&D), raise public awareness, and flexibly adapt to the domestic context. They are the key elements for Vietnam to promote green technology application, towards long-term sustainable development.

The study investigated the antifungal activity against Aspergillus niger CBS 76997 and Penicillium oxalicum 20B of several Lactobacillus strains (LAB). The in vitro antifungal activity of cell-free supernatants and biomass of Lactobacillus strains against the growth of A. niger CBS 76997 and P. oxalicum 20B was determined by monitoring the fungal colony diameter over time by spot inoculation method and double layer method.

In the study, the total nitrogen content of natural rubber was determined to evaluate the effectiveness of deproteinization on the synthesis of chemically modified rubber materials. The remaining protein content in the obtained deproteinized natural rubber (DPNR) was analyzed as nitrogen content using the Kjeldahl method.

The production of colored glass is one of the methods used to recycle the electric arc furnace dust to take advantage of the coloring element in the dust.
